Diagnostic Facilities

Laboratory Equipment

Both our surgeries are equipped with modern laboratory machines to provide quick results from any blood tests your vet deems necessary. We also have an overnight courier service to a local laboratory for more complex tests, ensuring we can report your pet’s test results as quickly as possible.

X-ray and Ultrasound Scanning

Our Copdock surgery has a dedicated imaging suite complete with a digital x-ray machine, providing instant x-ray viewing and an ultrasound scanner. In most situations, if your pet requires an x-ray, you will be able to view the X ray the same day and receive an interpretation of findings. We have recently purchased a brand new, state of the art ultrasound machine.

Endoscopy

Using our specialised fiberoptic instrument we are able to look at otherwise inaccessible areas such as the inside of the stomach or intestines.

Electrocardiography (ECG) and Blood Pressure Monitoring

Instruments are available to perform these procedures which can form an important part of the investigation and monitoring of heart disease and certain other conditions.

Tonometry

Measurement of intra-ocular pressure (eyeball) to check for Glaucoma.

Surgical Facilities

Both our surgeries have inpatient wards providing accommodation for a range of species and breeds. We have separate isolation facilities for treatment of infectious cases. For patients requiring critical care we offer a range of facilities including an incubator, oxygen therapy and accurate metering of intravenous fluids via an infusion pump.

Our surgical theatres are fully equipped and provide the following facilities:

  • Heated, thermostatically controlled operating table
  • Electrosurgery
  • Electronic anaesthetic monitoring (displaying blood gas levels, blood pressure, body temperature and heart rate).
  • Modern, safe anaesthetic agents

Dentistry

Both our surgeries have dental equipment, including ultrasonic scalers, to enable us to perform routine dental care for your pets.

Ambulance

We have recently taken delivery of a dedicated veterinary ambulance used by our vets and nurses to collect and transport pets to and from or between our surgeries.

Referrals

We have very good relationships with local referral centres, which when appropriate can be used for specialist diagnostics and treatment.

Insured Pets

Due to the ever increasing number of insured animals, we have a dedicated member of staff who deals with all insurance claims on your behalf. For a small fee we can complete any relevant paperwork to ensure you are reimbursed as quickly as possible. We request that payment is made at the time of treatment and insurers pay clients directly.

Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy

Our Nursing team are now able to offer our patients laser therapy.

This involves directing infra-red radiation to inflamed or damaged tissue to accelerate the body's natural healing process.

The treatment is pain free, non-invasive, safe and is covered by most pet insurance.

It can be used to treat osteoarthritis, back pain, wounds, skin disorders, abscesses, post-operative pain or swelling and a whole number of other aliments in-between.

Its compatible with other treatments your pet may require, and is very well tolerated, infact its one thing they love to come to the vets for!
