Position: Veterinary Surgeon
I graduated from Bristol in 1978 and have been in practice since then. After several years in mixed practice the toll on my body meant I decided to downsize to small animal practice. I have 2 grown up daughters and 2 gorgeous chocolate labradors - I even breed the odd litter and so am always happy to advise on any breeding issues. In my spare time I take ’Dora,’ the youngest Labrador, to gundog training classes and also used to ride regularly until the bones became too fragile!

 Kathryn Jones MRCVS
Position: Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2004 and worked in mixed practice in Lincolnshire for a year before joining the Barn Veterinary Practice in 2005. I am interested in all aspect of small animal medicine and surgery. Outside of work I am a school governor and enjoy dress making and outdoor persuits. I have a rescue cat called Sweetcorn and a Jack Russell called Henry.

I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2010 and joined the Barn Veterinary Practice team in 2012. My main interests are in small animal medicine and surgery and within this I particularly enjoy feline medicine. In my free time, I enjoy caring for my pets which include cats, guinea-pigs, snakes, a dove, a rabbit and a hamster. I also regularly care for my parents dog when they go on holiday. I enjoy countryside dog walks, and attending Speedway races.

Mark Jeffrey MRCVSMark Jeffrey MRCVS
Position: Veterinary Surgeon
After qualifying from the Royal Veterinary College, London I came to work at the Barn Veterinary practice straight away and have been here ever since. I have had a close connection with the Barn for a number of years, working here on a Saturday before training to be a vet. I enjoy working with all species but spend a lot of time increasing our equine case-load. Whilst at the practice I enjoy soft tissue surgery. At home I enjoy most countryside activities, walking, clay shooting etc. I currently have two dogs, ’Reading’ a Bloodhound cross and ’Yola’, a Pointer cross. Both are quite a handful!

 Lauren Hamstead MRCVS
Position: Veterinary Surgeon
I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in July 2015 and moved to Suffolk straight away to start work at the Barn.

Born and bred Yorkshire, I’ve been a keen rider from the age of 3. I have always enjoyed looking after my own and my family’s horses, especially my first pony Merlin, who was a lovable rogue!

I honed my clinical training to equine practice, spending time studying equine
medicine, surgery, diagnostic imaging and stud medicine.
