Meet our Office Team and Receptionists

 Alison Stopher
Position: Receptionist/Insurance Administrator
I have worked with animals for many years at different vets and the RSPCA. My hobbies are being with my dogs, of which I have 3, Dillon, Jelly and Pepper, the Border Terrier. I also like doing upholstery and soft furnishings, I have also just become a grandma for the first time.

 Dawn Goddard
Position: Head Receptionist
I am the Head Receptionist . My main duties are to oversee the smooth running of reception. I have worked at the Barn for 30 plus years so am a familiar face at the reception desk. My hobbies outside work are gardening and travel.

 Teresa Nuttall
Position: Receptionist
Iíve been part of the reception team since August 2006 and during those eight years I have had the pleasure of meeting numerous pets and their owners. Some clients local to the Ashcroft surgery will have met my crossbreed terrier, Fox, on our walks. They will probably remember just how vocal a terrier can be!!!

 Hayley Aylott
Position: Receptionist
I joined the Ashcroft reception team in 2013 after many years working with the general public. Iím animal mad! So, this is the perfect job for me! I love meeting and greeting the pets as they come in. Iíve been a keen horse rider and owner for 20 years now and when Iím not working, youíll find me either pottering with the horses or out walking my two lovely Labradors.

Petra HornsbyPetra Hornsby
Position: Receptionist
Iím Petra and one of the newer members of the Reception team. I work at the Copdock practice and also at Ashcroft Road every Sunday. My previous jobs have included working in schools, copywriting and senior care work. Now I have found íthe best job ever,í getting to to meet, greet and help clients and their pets. I am passionate about all animals and share my house with two dogs, two cats and a couple of humans too! My other interests include gardening, reading and knitting badly.

 Linda Cooper
Position: Office Manager
I joined the Barn Veterinary Practice in April 2002 in the role of Practice Administrator, assisting the Practice Manager, Lorna Hill in the general running of the practice. The position has developed over the last 12 years as the practice has increased in size, employing additional vets and nurses. All the staff are animal lovers, friendly, dedicated, enthusiatic and fun to work with, which helps to make the hours we work together more enjoyable.

Although I have had many pets over the years, I currently have only a horse, who has reached the grand old age of 27 years (due no doubt to the exceptional veterinary care he receives). I bought him when he was 6 years old, a retired racehorse, so definitely now part of the family. I still hack him out most weekends, albeit at a fairly slow pace and I also play badminton every week.

Lorna HillLorna Hill
Position: Practice Manager
I have worked in the Practice along side Robert since we started the business back in 1986. Previously, I worked in a mixed Practice in Essex where I was the Practice Secretary and ran the farm accounts. Over the years a lot has changed in Veterinary Practice both with new technology and rules and regulations. It is enjoyable keeping up to date with new innovations and developing the Practice around them.
We have two children and recently our first grandchild arrived so we are kept busy with the family when not working. Included in the family is Maisie who is the most adorable labrador, Dougal & Alfie the ponies and Mango, a rather elderly ginger cat. Years ago I used to ride and compete, but now the most riding I undertake is to ride Dougal round the local lanes.

 Michelle Scott
Position: Cleaner
My name is Michelle, I am the practice cleaner
I enjoy gardening, listening to music and keeping tropical fish
I have a gerbil, íSquirrellí and a tortoiseshell cat called íFifií

 Denise Whittle
Position: Receptionist
I work as part of the Reception team and have been employed by The Barn for the last 3 years.
Outside of work I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family and two cats.

Maisie HillMaisie Hill
Position: Practice Mascot
My day to day role in the practice is mainly as a morale booster for staff, but I see my most important job as taste-tester for any edible waiting room stock.......If there is ever a shortage of tasty treats on offer in reception, I am most likely to blame, sorry about that.

 Aly Farthing
Position: Receptionist
Iím Aly one of the new receptionists. After being in my last job for 30 years
this is totally a new career change for me so loads of learning and training.
If Iím not here you will find me either walking my dog or gardening.
