 Mel Penn
Position: Registered Veterinary Nurse
I qualified as a R.A.N.A in 1984 after spending 2 years in a training practice and then 6 months at the BCA. I spent time working in practices in London, Bedfordshire and then spent three years as an equine vet nurse in Buckinghamshire. After moving to Suffolk, I joined the Barn in 1991. After a small gap (20 years!) being at home for my 2 children, I have very much enjoyed returning to veterinary nursing and the Barn. Outside of work I have 2 ponies, 3 dogs, 2 cats and 2 chickens to keep me busy. I also love gardening and sailing.

Julie Tulip-WalshJulie Tulip-Walsh
Position: Veterinary Nurse
I qualified as a R.A.N.A back in the day when nurses had to wear dresses and cardboard hats. Returning to veterinary nursing after a twenty year sabatical, I was relieved to find out that vet nurses no longer have to wear dresses and silly hats. During my time away from vet nursing, I worked in the equine industry, so never far from my vocation. I joined the Barn Veterinary Practice recently and I have fully embraced the life of a veterinary nurse, and it feels like I never left the field. I love all aspects of veterinary nursing, but I have a special interest in anaesthesia. In my free time I like to hike mountains with my best buddy, a Jack Russell cross, or ride my crazy Anglo Arab.
